Episode 101: The Mud Monster

Mystery Category: Cryptids / Unidentified Biological Entities

The Story: In the summer of 1973, something white-haired and slimy began emerging from the Big Muddy River in Illinois. It wasn't just a fleeting glimpse; it was a series of encounters that sparked a massive town-wide monster hunt and left investigators questioning what exactly was lurking in the riverbanks.

Back in 1973, at the beginning of the Bigfoot craze, Murphysboro, Illinois threw their cryptid hat in the ring: in the June of that year, a slimy, stinky, white-haired monster appeared on the banks of the Big Muddy River, and set off a commotion that remains a mystery today.
